Political Stability and its Economic Implications – October 23, 2008



ERF has organised a conference on “Political Stability and its Economic Implications” on October 23, 2008.

The first session of the conference is chaired by TÜSİAD Deputy General Secretary Ümit İzmen. In this session, Bahçeşehir University Faculty and BETAM Director Professor Seyfettin Gürsel delivered a speech on “Türkiye’s Electoral System from a Perspective of Democracy and Political Stability”. His speech was followed by Sabancı University Faculty Professor Ersin Kalaycıoğlu’s presentation on “the Institutionalisation of Political Parties and Reform”.
In the second session of the conference, Koç University Faculty and ERF Director Kamil Yılmaz made a presentation on “the Political Party Law, Intra-party Competition and Economic Performance”. Finally, Professor Fuat Keyman lectured on “the Deepening of Democracy in Türkiye and Good Governance”.
